Thomas Xhignesse

After a short training in filmmaking at the Centro Cinematográfico de Metepec during an exchange year in Mexico, Thomas Xhignesse started studying film direction in 2011 at IAD, Belgium.
During his studies, he meets Swiss Juliette Klinke with whom he becomes good friends. Surrounded by other students, they work together for a workshop about co-writing and co-directing, held by Benoit Mariage, in their first year of their Masters. This short film handles the sexual initiation of two adolescents in prostitutes. With humor, sensitivity and efficiency, the two directors manage to tell an existential experience oscillating between curiosity, bragging, the need of affection and disillusionment.

The film won several awards at international festivals including the Prix Arte at the Festival International du Film Francophone de Namur, a nomination at the Magritte and two actor awards for Axel Capite at BSFF as well as at the Festival "Le court en dit long " in Paris.

Today, Thomas finishes school with a graduation film entitled Jolis Mômes.
